It’s been a bright and sunny weekend.  Thinking this Monday needs a little glimmer of gold to make me want to work when it’s this nice outside.

First off, yes, I’m aware that polka dot is not a color, but a pattern.  But I’m kind of obsessed with it right now, so I thought I’d throw the color rules out the window for today.  The polka dot fetish is only seconded by my obsession with stripes, and I’ve never been much of a pattern girl until now, so watch out!  One of these days I’m going to combine the two in my wardrobe and things are going to get crazy up in here! Love it.

Ahhhh, it finally feels like spring is upon us here on the coast of California.  The hillsides are perfectly green and the garden is bursting with color and texture.  Today’s inspiration is all about the bright kelly green that comes from a rainy winter and a perfect spring.

This weekend was so beautiful and I got to spend lots of time in the garden, enjoying all the bright colors that seems to be so vibrant after a rain.  I was even able to cut some flowers and branches and bring them into the house; the first bouquet of the year! Today I put together a little inspiration board based on the greenery I saw this weekend.

Ice cream season is almost upon us and I’ve been dreaming about making homemade sorbets! Today’s inspiration colors are pulled from this delicious summer treat.  Enjoy!

The lavender in our yard is in full bloom, new growth popping up everywhere from the rains that we had last week.  I love the combination of the soft grey-green and the delicate shades of purple, so I thought I’d pull together a little lavender inspiration for the week.  I hope it inspires you as well.

I was looking through my Pinterest boards this morning and noticed these two images hanging out next to each other. I’m really loving the color combos and the pattern of that paper! Now if only I could get it made into a skirt…

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m ready for a little sun and color up in my world!  It rained practically all weekend, so I know (at least for me) I could use a good, hard, smack in the face with color today to jump-start my sunny attitude for the rest of the week.  Hope your Monday is off to a good start!

Feeling like adding a little mint to my life this week.  I saw some mint green pants the other day and came this close to buying them.  I ended up getting a fuchsia pair instead, but I can’t stop thinking about those minties. I think I would have to pair this color with a little something natural to start and work up to pairing it with a bright color like yellow or red.  Here’s a little mint-spiration for your Monday. :)

I was in a creative mood over the weekend, so I made a couple little things.

01. I finally potted and hung up my plant in our living room.   I love how it gives a little punch of color to that otherwise dull corner (What you can’t see if the mess of tv and video equipment just below it.  Plants are supposed to absorb radiation, right?).  This little project was inspired by this photo. I also found the tutorial for the macrame here.

02. I picked up a little pack of rubber erasers to try my hand at carving stamps without dropping a bunch of money on an official ‘stamp carving kit’.  I found it to be relatively easy, just a limiting as the size of the erasers is pretty small.  But, now I know if I ever want to make a big stamp, I can totally do it. I’m in love with that little fox.  I want to stamp him on everything!
